Warners Bay Village and ISPT Award Survivor's R US $10,000 Through the 2024 ISPT Community Kickstart Grant Program

community kickstart program

Warners Bay Village, owned by ISPT has awarded $10,000 in funding to Survivor’s R Us to support them in continuing to make a positive impact within the Warners Bay community.

Local groups play such a vital role in supporting and enriching the lives of their local communities and the Community Kickstart grant program aims to amplify these efforts by providing financial funding and support to help sustain and expand their projects and services.

Survivor’s R Us empowers survivors to break the cycle of Family and Domestic Violence by providing a path away from violence. This mission has extended to those experiencing homelessness and unemployment. The grant will be used to continue and expand the work they do in providing free hot breakfasts, hot lunches, and community outreach. This will be of enormous benefit to the community and bring more people into contact with the organisation, creating awareness of services and programs such as counselling, referrals, free haircuts, laundry and showers, free hot food, Oz Harvest and pre-loved clothes, furniture and household items.

Maria Martin, founder of Survivor’s R Us, says “We are so excited and grateful to receive the Community Kickstart Grant from Warners Bay Village & ISPT. This $10,000 will go a long way to feeding more people at our charity at our twice-weekly breakfasts, and also for our increasing, vulnerable clients that desperately need food relief. We can’t thank you enough for this grant, and for ultimately helping us help more people.”

Warners Bay Village Centre Manager, Laura Fehlberg thanks each of the groups who applied for the grant.

“There are so many fantastic and worthy local organisations within our community and Warners Bay Village is very proud to provide grant opportunities to assist these groups to continue their wonderful and vital work”, she said.

“We believe that Survivor’s R Us will utilise this grant to develop meaningful change, whilst assisting in delivering more projects and initiatives locally thereby making Warners Bay an even better place to live”.

“Warners Bay Village recognises the hard work, care and time that goes on behind the scenes of community groups and organisations to keep our community united, so we are very pleased to be able to offer these grants.”

Each application was assessed against a criteria including; commitment and investment into the local community, demonstration of innovation and solutions that benefit the local community and the cultivation of a shared future.
