Want to Move in to a Career in Teaching? Now is the Time.
The pandemic has forced many of us to reconsider our career paths and the kind of impact we want to make.
With the need for trained teachers only increasing, a role shaping children’s futures and making an immediate impression in the classroom is within your grasp via the University of Newcastle’s Master of Teaching.
Using your existing degree as a foundation (regardless of what field it is in), the Master of Teaching is the perfect solution to transition into a rewarding career as a primary or secondary teacher. You’ll engage in practical experience, in-depth learning and gain professional teaching accreditation within 18 months.
With a background in psychology, a Master of Teaching (Primary) graduate, Taylor was inspired to take the leap and switch careers.
“The Master of Teaching appealed to me because I could walk away with a teaching degree in half the time. Knowing that I would be studying with people who had already been to uni and had a degree under their belt was also enticing,” says Taylor.
With face-to-face delivery and supportive teachers, Taylor was also able to manage study around her work and life.
“The program is designed to help those already working or with a family. I studied fulltime and worked part-time and found it very manageable.”
Taking a chance on a new career path paid off for Taylor, who has a full-time permanent position at a local primary school and a job she loves. The move into the profession was so fitting for Taylor that she is now undertaking a further postgraduate study to progress in the teaching field.
So, if you’ve ever found yourself thinking about becoming a teacher, now is the time to go for it. Applications are open for the 2023 intake.
