Short Plays, Big Impact: Lake Macquarie One Act Play Festival Returns

The Lake Macquarie One Act Play Festival is a theatre competition showcasing short, sharp and exhilarating one-act plays from Lake Macquarie and beyond.
The theatre stage will light up with a series of short plays brought to life by local performing artists. The plays are all original works written and submitted to the festival by national and local playwrights.
Be taken on a rollercoaster ride as the plays explore contemporary themes that will make you laugh, cry, and challenge your perspective. The selected plays cover topics from artificial intelligence to time travel, personal reinvention and more.
With a $1,900 prize pool, the festival is held in contest form and judged by qualified judges with expertise in the performing arts. Prizes are awarded for Outstanding Play Performance, Outstanding Actor and Youth Actor Encouragement.
Returning festival Director Charlotte De Wit brings her strong artistic vision and dedication to this year's festival. As an advocate for showcasing local talent, Charlotte is committed to nurturing and promoting the region’s arts scene.
Don’t miss the chance to be entertained and support our local creatives at Warners Bay Theatre, baramayiba, on Saturday, 5 April, at 1pm and 4:30pm. Single session and two session passes are available.
