THE GREAT MAC EASTER EGG HUNT

MAC | Sunday, 9 April | 9am to 11am

Family artmaking, the Archibald Prize, a stunt clown and Easter eggs! Young children and their families can enjoy Easter-inspired art activities guided by friendly art museum educators. In addition to the Great Mac Easter Egg Hunt, all tickets will include entry to view the Archibald Prize 2022 exhibition (between 9am to 11am on Sunday, 9 April). The artmaking activity, performance by The Pretty Amazing Jono and Easter Egg Hunt are all included in the ticket price. HOT POTATO BAND CHILDREN'S CONCERT

Saturday, 15 April 2023 | 11am and 1pm

This unique children's concert is full of energetic, fun-loving and quirky musical performances with the Hot Potato Band. The Hot Potato Band's larger-than-life brass collective is a breath of fresh air, setting a new bar for energetic and interactive musical performances. Designed for ages five and above, this concert will entertain all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult (adults at children's price). Choose from 2 sessions - 11am and 1pm. MAITLAND AQUATICS CENTRE

Entertain the kids throughout the holidays with a choice of indoor and outdoor swimming options to splash about in. The Splash Pad will be open daily from 11am to 3pm; the Holiday Intensive Swimming Lesson Program will be back, plus save the date for the Winter Launch Party on Wednesday, 12 April. LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAMS

Lake Mac Swim Centres School holiday intensive programs are run as one-week intensive blocks during each school holiday period. Book into a five-day program and watch your child improve over the course of just one week. Reinforcing the skills gained in Learn to Swim classes each day helps your child retain information faster. Lessons run for 30 minutes, and bookings are made for the same time each day for one week. The intensive program is $12 a day, paid in full for the five-day program before the lesson. MAITLAND GAOL

Snitch's Easter Egg Hunt Children will explore the site looking for coloured Easter eggs. Follow the map to find specially marked locations to complete the code word puzzle. Whilst you're scouring the cells for eggs, keep your eyes peeled for the golden egg, you might just get an extra special prize! When you've completed the code word puzzle, return your map to receive a chocolate Easter surprise. Once you've completed the hunt, feel free to download the Maitland Gaol app and stay onsite to complete the Snitch's Gaol Exploration. Bookings are essential (visit www.maitlandgaol.com.au/event/snitchs-easter-egg-hunt), children must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times. LET'S ROLLER SKATE

Central Maitland | Friday 14 April to Sunday 16 April

Enjoy a range of fun supplementary activities, including food trucks, live music, roving performers and more. The event will feature a 12m x 33m rollers skating rink, offering the community the opportunity to connect and play in a fun and safe environment. With speciality sessions and other activities planned, it will be a weekend of skating you don't want to miss! Patrons are welcome to come along and bring their own skates or hire some for a small fee of $5. MEGA CREATURES

Hunter Valley Gardens | 1 to 30 April

Explore and discover amazing prehistoric dinosaurs, crawling insects and mythical creatures, including the giant T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Spinosaurus and more. This event is truly MEGA, with mega creatures and amazing rides joining forces to ensure a big day out! For the more adventurous, check out the Night Roar Tour (7 to 23 April).
