Lake Macquarie One Act Play Festival is a new theatre competition showcasing short, sharp and exhilarating original one-act plays.

Offered for the first time in 2023, the Lake Macquarie One Act Play Festival is designed to bring together creative and performing artists, (established and emerging) to share original stories designed to explore the themes of life, health and the environment.

Over two nights, the theatre stage will light up with a series of short-plays brought to life by local performing artists. The 13 plays are all original works written and submitted into the festival by local, national and international playwrights. All plays are in the running to win, and the audience, alongside our esteemed judging panel, will help determine the winners.
