Help us celebrate the incredible people in our community and acknowledge the unsung heroes and high achievers who have made an outstanding contribution to our city.
The 2022 Lake Mac Awards recognise excellence and outstanding contribution in leadership, advocacy, innovation, bravery, skill or community spirit in volunteering, community contribution, sports, arts, creativity and environmental enhancement.
Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said the awards celebrate the people and groups that show that our city is made up of a creative, active and inclusive community.
“A Lake Mac Award is the highest honour we can give to people who live in Lake Macquarie.” Cr Fraser said.
“There are thousands of people in our city who inspire us through their achievements and contribution to life in Lake Mac.
“This year we have several new categories including the Lake Mac COVID-19 Hero to recognise these caring individuals and groups that have made a difference in Lake Macquarie during the pandemic.”
Nominations are now open in the following categories:
SPORTS
Lake Mac Young Sports Star – for outstanding performance in junior sports
Lake Mac Sports Star with Disability – for outstanding performance in sports for people with disability
Lake Mac Sports Star – for outstanding performance in sports
Lake Mac Sports Leader – for outstanding demonstration of leadership and contribution to sporting life in Lake Macquarie
VOLUNTEERING AND COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION
Lake Mac Young Citizen of the Year – for outstanding demonstration of leadership skills, and community contribution
Lake Mac Senior of the Year – for outstanding demonstration of leadership skills, and community contribution
Lake Mac Ambassador – for outstanding demonstration of leadership skills, and community contribution
Lake Mac Volunteer of the Year – for outstanding community contribution
Lake Mac Community Group of the Year – for outstanding community contribution
Lake Mac COVID-19 Hero – for outstanding COVID-19 community contribution
ARTS AND CREATIVITY
Lake Mac Artist and Creator – for demonstrating excellence in the field of arts and creative production
Lake Mac Arts Leader – for outstanding demonstration of leadership and contribution to the arts
ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT
Lake Mac Environmental Leader – for outstanding demonstration of leadership and contribution to the Lake Macquarie environment
