Newcastle Music Festival
*IMPORTANT EVENT UPDATE* It is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of the 2021 Newcastle Music Festival due to the expanding COVID outbreak in Sydney. Consequences of the outbreak such as travel restrictions, social distancing requirements and rules about singers wearing masks, make our concerts either impossible or severely compromised. Beyond this, our highest priority is the health of our artists, audiences and staff, and our decision has been informed by all of these factors. Thanks to our wonderful sponsors and the tireless work of the festival administration, this year’s festival promised an outstanding lineup of artists. It is disappointing that these concerts will not happen in Newcastle this year, but we look forward to bringing many more concerts to our great city when it is safe to do so.
Newcastle Music Festival is now in its fifth year running, providing a platform to highlight brilliant local musicians and inspiring guests with a wide variety of musical styles.
The diverse series of concerts will include the likes of Tamara-Anna Cislowska, Deborah Humble, Grace Knight, Anna Fraser, Andrew Blanch, Paco Lara and Terence Koo, plus many more unmissable musicians.
There is something for everyone in this year’s Festival on 30 July to 15 August. Even brass band afficionados are catered for this year, with the Festival debut of the brilliant Australian Army Band Newcastle in a free family concert at the Station.
