Newcastle Art Space (NAS) presents an exhibition of more than 100 local and national artists responding to the theme of Clouds.

CLOUDS

This show is the third in the series curated by Louise Faulkner “with a stellar line-up Clouds 3 promises to be as beautiful and varied as, the nature of clouds themselves”.

Clouds 3 features artists such as Euan Macleod who has won both the Archibald (1999) and Sulman Prize (2001). NAS champions the work of emerging creatives alongside established artists and this show is no exception.

Alongside Macleod are celebrated artists such as photographers Paul Foley, and Sari Sutton, photographer and filmmaker Tim Georgeson and painters John Morris, Rachel Milne, and ceramicist Jacqui Garcia. The exhibition includes the late Mazie Karen Turner an exceptional Australian abstract artist who’s layered paintings command contemplation.

The show has attracted a huge response from artists across mediums including works in ceramic, photography, video, mixed media and drawing. For several artists it will be their first foray into the world of exhibiting. Newcastle Art Space provides a safe entry point to the artworld with opportunities for artists held year-round. Including Mentorship programs, the Hunter emerging art prize and hosting the 2024 Newcastle Club Foundation art prize.  Clouds 3 opens Saturday 13 July from 4-6pm.
