Lovely Thunder: A Vibrant Exploration of Colour Through Contemporary Art

Performance Arts Culture Cessnock (PACC) is proud to present Lovely Thunder, an exhibition that explores the power of colour in contemporary art.
Curated by George Adams, this dynamic collection showcases the work of fifteen contemporary artists whose use of colour creates an almost synaesthetic experience for the viewer.
While the title Lovely Thunder suggests the beauty of sound, this exhibition is deeply immersed in the impact of colour - how it enters the eye and resonates in the mind. Like an album shifting with each track, the exhibition invites audiences to engage with different palettes, subject matter, and artistic styles, all connected by a common thread: the ability of art to shape and transform our perception of the world.
The official opening of Lovely Thunder will be held at PACC on Saturday, 10 May from 12pm to 2pm, with a special address by Michael Rolfe. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear insights into the exhibition and enjoy complimentary refreshments, proudly supported by Lisa McGuigan Wines.
To RSVP, contact the PACC Box Office on (02) 4993 4266 or book online at mypacc.com.au.
Entry to the exhibition is free, and the works will remain on display until 24 May 2025. The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4:30pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
