Cessnock City Council has partnered with the Hunter Joint Organisation of Councils to deliver a free ‘Good for the Hood’ workshop from 10.30am to 1pm on Thursday 24 February at Kurri Kurri TAFE.

Good for the Hood is all about bringing people together and giving them the tools to create meaningful change in their communities.

This free workshop will be presented by Good for the Hood co-founder, Jo Taranto. Jo has worked with ABC's ‘War on Waste’ and ‘Fight for Planet A: Our Climate Challenge’ and has seen communities all over Australia taking action to make cleaner, kinder and more sustainable choices.

The workshop will cover how to reduce emissions (for good), the state of waste and litter in our area, the circular economy (what it is and how it works) and 10 exciting ways you can incorporate the circular economy into our community.

Cessnock City Council Mayor Jay Suvaal is encouraging residents and community groups to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

“This free interactive workshop is a great way to identify some of the key challenges we face as a community and come up with some tangible solutions,” Councillor Suvaal said.

This event is an initiative of Cessnock City Council and the Hunter Joint Organisation of Councils who are proudly working with the community to harness the good and create sustainable change.
