The 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season is underway at Hunter Ice Skating Stadium, and the Newcastle Northstars are off to a flying start, winning all but one of their home games in April.

Whilst there’s plenty of home-game hockey action on the weekends, Hunter Ice Skating Stadium is also a hub of entertainment and activities throughout the entire week with public skate sessions, learn to skate, learn to play hockey, and at 9:15am on Tuesday mornings - the Coffee Club meets!
This session is tailor-made for skaters of all skill levels, presenting a perfect blend of leisure and social catchups. Welcoming individuals of all ages, this event allows participants to start their day with a dose of physical activity and the opportunity to mingle and share stories over coffee.
Looking for a skate that’s a little extra? The Friday Night Skate session is for you. The choice of music is put into the skater's hands, powered by Crowd DJ, so you can pick the beats. Swift? Rodrigo? Styles? Maybe a bit of metal or some EDM bangers? It’s all up to you!
