Going the Extra Mile at Wallsend
The Wallsend Town Business Association aims to promote local businesses to the broader community and encourage visitation to this historic and vibrant village.
From talking to business leaders in the town, it's clear that the people are what make this diverse community thrive. Each month we've showcased one type of industry, and this month the focus is on medical practices and pharmacies.
There is a general sense that Wallsend offers everything that residents need and that there is almost no requirement to seek goods or services elsewhere. With five medical practices and three pharmacies in town, elderly residents and busy mothers have help on hand whenever they need it. Medical practices include the Andrew Nash Clinic, Wallsend Medical Practice, Wallsend GP Clinic, First GP Wallsend and Hello Health Family Practice. Pharmacies include Wilson's Chemsave Pharmacy, Simple Pharmacy Wallsend and Pharmacy 4 Less Wallsend.
Paul Wilson established Wilson's Chemsave Pharmacy at Wallsend approximately 50 years ago. Prior to becoming Wilson's Chemsave Pharmacy at Wallsend, it was Endersby's Chemist. With such a long history in the area, quite a number of the Wilson's team grew up there and happily continue to serve their local community in the thriving small business.
"We enjoy serving our loyal, down-to-earth customers," said Adam Walters, Managing Pharmacist and Junior Partner at Wilson's.
"We also enjoy the relaxed vibe of Wallsend and still being close to everything Newcastle offers. We pride ourselves on being competitively priced and having one of the largest ranges of giftware in the area. So, if you're looking for the perfect gift, don't forget to check out what we have in store. We always aim to provide a comprehensive solution to meet our customers' healthcare needs with friendly and professional staff who love to go out of their way to help our customers. It's our mission to always go the extra mile."
