Family Fun at Maitland Heritage Festival 2023!
Maitland Heritage Fest is back for its third year on the weekend of Friday, 16 to Sunday, 18 June. The main event will be held in various locations around Church Street Maitland on Sunday, 18 June.
Ticketed events include the Festival Dinner at Monte Pio (16 June), guided heritage walking tours around Maitland, including afternoon tea at Studio Amsterdam (17 June), Bridge House and St Mary's Church Rectory (17 June) and the musical soiree at Sun Street Studio (17 June).
Activities on Sunday, 18 June (mostly free) include guided walking tours, engaging with local historians, artisans, bell tower and Grossmann House tours, stalls, great food, demonstrations, local entertainers and much more.
New activities this year include a silhouette artist who will create two identical silhouettes, one to take home and one to be kept as a record of the festival - all free and sponsored by Burton Automotive Group.
Sanjex Serrati will return with his penny farthing and vintage games, which are always a great hit with the young and young at heart. Children's activities include a fun treasure hunt.
The town crier will be on hand to guide everyone to see the blacksmith, historical restoration and face painting. Program features include brass band performances, tiger moth flyover by RNAC, pipes and drums band and the Maitland City Choir performing in St Mary's church.
There will be so much to see and do for all ages, with many local community groups in attendance to answer all your questions about the local history.
