Dan Sultan and Alex Lloyd Headline Free Riverside Concert 'Changing Tides'
Free pop up concert ‘Changing Tides’ returns to Maitland’s Levee this weekend (Friday 13 and Saturday 14 January), with two ARIA Award winning acts – alt rock artist Dan Sultan and soulful singer songwriter Alex Lloyd – fronting a line up of national and local acts.
Performing from a floating stage on the Hunter River, Dan Sultan and Alex Lloyd will each play a 90 minute set from 6.00pm on the Saturday night, with local acts CJ Stranger, Ben Leece and The Left of the Dial, and Johnston City rounding out the roster on Friday night.
Food trucks will be on site offering dinner and drink options, in addition to the local restaurants and cafes that line The Levee.
An offshoot of Council’s popular LIVE at The Levee format, Changing Tides is a free, all ages event, so no tickets are required. Maitland City Council Events Team Leader Kara Stonestreet says punters are ‘encouraged to rock up early, grab a spot on the riverbank and get ready for relaxing, summery vibes.’
‘We’re thrilled to bring back Changing Tides this weekend, after the success of the last year’s pilot,’ Ms Stonestreet says.
‘This year we’ve expanded the scope and scale – music lovers are in for a real treat. The best part is, it’s free.
‘What better way to enjoy a summer evening that sitting back and taking in some great tunes from homegrown Aussie acts, right here in the centre of Maitland, with the Hunter River as our beautiful backdrop.’
LIVE at The Levee presents Changing Tides is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW community events program.
