What would make Lake Macquarie City even better over the next 10 years?

That is the question Lake Macquarie City Council will be asking the community throughout May as it works to create a new Community Strategic Plan for the city.

Council’s Community Strategic Plan guides the city’s future direction across 10 years and sets the shared the vision and aspirations the community.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said it was important to hear from a range of people to ensure the updated plan reflected the needs and desires of the community.

“The Community Strategic Plan really is the people’s plan and influences all other strategies Council produces,” Cr Fraser said.

“With 39,000 more people expected to call Lake Macquarie home by 2041, it’s crucial that we plan ahead to support our growing community and the future development of city.

“We’re inviting residents to share their 10-year vision for Lake Macquarie. How can we best support our community, protect our natural environment and ensure our local economy is diverse and people have the housing, jobs and education they need to succeed in life? That’s what we want our community to tell us.”

Lake Macquarie residents are invited to provide feedback at lakemac.com.au/2035 before 31 May.

Community feedback will help shape the draft Lake Macquarie Community Strategic Plan 2025-2035, updated Local Strategic Planning Statement and other Council strategic documents.
