Comics, cosplay and gaming ready to takeover The Levee
On Saturday 3 May from 2pm to 8pm, The Levee Shared Zone will transform into an immersive pop culture playground as ‘Level Up at The Levee’ brings a mix of comics, gaming and cosplay to the heart of Maitland.
With competitions, live performances, themed market stalls and hands-on activities, the event promises something for everyone, from casual fans to dedicated enthusiasts.
Maitland City Council Coordinator City Events and Activations Adam Franks says, “Level Up at The Levee is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate their shared passion for comics, gaming and pop culture.
“With activities ranging from cosplay competitions and tabletop gaming to a themed market and live interactive performances, the event offers an engaging and inclusive experience for all attendees.”
The event program features a cosplay competition with a $300 voucher to a business of the winner's choice, judged by local business owners and special guests, along with a professional cosplay photo wall and a Comics Reading Lounge featuring Maitland City Library’s extensive graphic novel collection.
Creative minds can explore intricate LEGO displays and hands-on activities with Bricks 4 Kidz, while tabletop gaming enthusiasts can enjoy role-playing and board games at Good Games Maitland’s Tabletop Taverna.
“This event not only provides an exciting experience for pop culture fans but also creates valuable opportunities for local businesses. With hundreds of visitors expected, it’s a great chance for traders to connect with new customers and showcase their offerings,” Mr Franks says.
