Wallsend is a town that enjoys the loyalty of its community, a place where diversity is celebrated, and everyone knows your name. It’s a place that has everything you need to live a good life, well located between the city of Newcastle and its ocean and the Hunter Valley. This thriving centre of business, recreation, arts and education has a personality all of its own, rooted in its history and its multicultural people.

The Wallsend Town Business Association (WTBA) is actively engaged in advocating for business and works closely with the City of Newcastle, working on strategic objectives that include the beautification of its precinct, the growth of its economic

diversity, and the promotion of the precinct as a wonderful place to live, work and play.

Chairperson of the Association, Wayne Rogers, believes that, as the promotional slogan says, Wallsend is The Place to Be.

“I’m excited for 2023. We’ve got loads planned to help draw people to our beautiful town and to support the businesses that we represent,” said Wayne.

“I’d like to encourage our business owners to become members of the WTBA. Now, early in the year, is a good time to do

it. We work as a cohesive and progressive group of professionals who volunteer to collaborate, inform and progress the best interests of business in Wallsend. We welcome the input of all our local businesses and are keen to see more of them involved. It’s a great networking opportunity too.”

A visit to Wallsend can include a fabulous foray into the fascinating art of op shopping with several second-hand retail outlets located along the main street. There are day spas, hair and beauty salons, restaurants and cafes representing all corners of the world, plus Wallsend Village Shopping Centre, the Wallsend Library, Wallsend Diggers and parks to relax and play in.

Throughout the year, WTBA creates events that encourage visitation and add to the already vibrant community, such as the Op Shop Trail, Mother’s Day High Tea, and the annual Wallsend Festival later in the year.

If you are a business located in Wallsend and wish to get involved in the WTBA, contact the team via www.wallsendtown.com.au or email info@wallsendtown.com.au.
