Bring Your Skating Dreams to Life!
Hunter Ice Skating Stadium offer a variety of programs to help bring all your skating dreams to life. Learning to skate is fun for all ages and skill levels and includes instruction by some of the best coaches in the country.
Lessons are held during the school term on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, run in groups of ten and allow each student to progress at their own pace.
The Learn to Play Ice Hockey program has been developed by players who have represented Australia at the International Ice Hockey World Championships. Once you graduate from the Learn to Play program, there are plenty of opportunities to continue your growth and play this fast and exciting sport. Learn to Play is held on Monday from 5:45pm during the school term.
Skates are available to hire for all sessions, so don’t let that hold you back!

This year the Newcastle Northstars celebrate their 20th Anniversary as part of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL). Launching the preseason with a 7–6 victory against the Bears, players and fans are excited for the start of the season.
