Become a Port Stephens Koala Crusader
A partnership between Port Stephens Council, the NSW Government and volunteer care group Port Stephens Koala Hospital, the Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary is focused on conservation and protecting the threatened species for years
to come.
A decade ago, the koala population in this region numbered in the 1000s. Today we can only count them in the 100s, so receiving financial support is vital to their future.
An innovative new campaign allowing members of the public to get involved in protecting our local furry friends is being launched this month, just in time for Christmas gifting and offering the opportunity to become a Koala Crusader!
Most importantly, when you become a Koala Crusader, you make a direct financial contribution to the Port Stephens Koala Hospital, helping to ensure the long-term rehabilitation, preservation and conservation of koalas in the wild.
“For only $129, a Port Stephens Koala Crusader not only directly contributes to the long-term preservation of koalas in the Port Stephens region but receives lots of ‘goodies,’ said Holiday Parks Section Manager Kim Latham.
“This includes a 12-month Annual Entry Pass, pledge certificate, plush Koala, baseball cap, lapel pin, sticker and writing pen. And when a Koala Crusader visits the Sanctuary, they also get plenty of additional perks like 10% off souvenirs or food and beverages purchased at Fat Possum Café, a 10% discount off an accommodation stay in a glamping tent or hotel
room as well as being able to bring a friend for FREE on Wild Koala Day (3 May 2023).”
Purchase a Port Stephens Koala Crusader for family or friends this Christmas and directly contribute to the long-term preservation of Port Stephens koalas in the wild.
Port Stephens Koala Crusader memberships are available from 9 November. For more information, visit www.portstephenskoalasanctuary.com.au.
