Skills for Trades proudly announces the launch of the Chocol’art Exhibition, a groundbreaking showcase featuring moving chocolate art installations that push the boundaries of culinary artistry. This unique fusion of chocolate mastery and artistic vision opens to the public from October 17-19, 2024, at The Creator Incubator in Newcastle.

The Chocol’art Exhibition represents a collision of culinary expertise and artistic vision, showcasing the unparalleled skills in chocolate sculpting and kinetic art from the collaborative team behind the creation of the Boneshaker, the world’s first moving chocolate sculpture, and the more recent Iron Shark, a fully immersive experience featuring a two-metre, 200kg chocolate sculpture. This creation developed into the short international award-winning documentary titled “Skills for Trades,” produced by Shane Williams.

“We’re excited to share this once-in-a-lifetime experience in our hometown Newcastle. The Chocol’art Exhibition not only demonstrates the highest level of skills in chocolate artistry and design, it was also created to inspire and create opportunities for the next generation of culinary professionals to further develop their skills under the collaborative mentorship of Australia’s own world-renowned chocolate master Dean Gibson and international award-winning industrial designer Jon Pryer,” said Shane Williams, co-creator of the Skills Collider.

“This exhibition represents a perfect blend of culinary expertise and artistic vision. We’ve pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with chocolate, creating an immersive experience that will captivate visitors,” added Dean Gibson, chocolate master and collaborator on the project.

This event is part of Skills for Trades' ongoing mission to inspire future industry talent, facilitate knowledge sharing, and elevate public appreciation of the creativity behind the art of baking and patisserie trades.
