It’s a new year, new name and a new slate of killer shows in 2023 for the team at Performance Arts Culture Cessnock (PACC), with the 2023 Season Launch to be held on Friday, 10 February, from 6.45PM.

Formerly Cessnock Performing Arts Centre, the 2023 Season Launch will be the first official event under the new moniker, which has been adopted to accommodate the expanded focus of the centre brought on by the building’s refurbishment. Works currently underway include exhibition and retail spaces, artist workshop areas, and improvements to accessibility, and are expected to be completed in late 2023.

Local personality and country music stalwart Tara Naysmith and The Red Dirt Band will provide entertainment for the evening. A familiar face to anyone who has attended Cessnock City Council’s Carols in the Park or Spring Awakening events over the years, Tara performs extensively both throughout the Hunter and far and wide, including at many of Australia’s celebrated country music festivals, including annual events in Tamworth, Central Coast, Cessnock and Mildura. With her rich, powerful vocals, impressive stage presence and songwriting skills, Tara continues to make her mark on the Australian Country Music scene.

Taking up hosting duties for the night will be Newcastle-based drag superstar Timberlina. Originally hailing from a small country town in the Central West of New South Wales, a move to the ‘big city’ in her formative years saw Timberlina attend one of the State’s best-ranked Performing Arts High Schools, where she dabbled in all things dance and drama. After a

short hiatus from the limelight, Timberlina was re-born in spectacular style and glittery glory in early 2017 and continues to be an ever-evolving chameleon of the performance and hosting world. Timberlina’s over-the-top style, dazzling

repertoire, and naughty quick wit will keep you fabulously entertained for hours.

Guests can expect to be treated to sparkling wine and canapés on arrival from 6:45PM, with entertainment set to kick off in the auditorium from 8PM. Tickets are just $49 (or free for members of PACC) and are on sale now at the PACC Box Office, by phone on 4993 4266 or online at www.mypacc.com.au.
