House wins Herald Women’s Premier League player of the year award
Newcastle Olympic star Jemma House has been named the Herald Women’s Premier League player of the year for 2020.
House starred for Olympic as the club won the premiership and championship in its maiden Herald Women’s Premier League campaign.
House scored twice to be named player of the grand final as Olympic defeated Warners Bay 3-2 at Macquarie Field last Sunday.
House also won the competition’s Golden Boot as the Herald Women’s Premier League’s top scorer, with House notching 31 goals for Olympic across the 2020 campaign.
Broadmeadow Magic’s Kobie Ferguson was named the Herald Women’s Premier League Players’ Player, while Warners Bay striker Jennifer Hoy received the competition’s Media Award.
Mid Coast FC coach Michael Grass was recognised with the Coach of the Year Award after leading his side to the verge of the finals, while Broadmeadow Magic starlet Lucy Jerram was named Young Player of the Year.
Northern NSW Football Head of Football Development Peter Haynes congratulated the winners on a fine season.
“It was a big year in the Herald Women’s Premier League with Newcastle Olympic winning the premiership and championship, with Jemma House also rewarded for her outstanding season,” Haynes said.
“Congratulations to all the award winners on a fabulous Herald Women’s Premier League season and we look forward to seeing you all again, bigger and better, in 2021.”
