Council Services to Commence Reopening From Monday 1 June
In response to the New South Wales Government’s easing of restrictions, Council will commence reopening facilities from Monday 1 June where safe and practicable to do so.
Maitland Mayor Loretta Baker says ‘It’s fantastic that we are able to commence reopening Council facilities, however I encourage our community to remain vigilant in maintaining social distancing and to continue to practice safe hand hygiene measures.
‘Reopening Council facilities in accordance with state government guidelines will draw more people to Maitland and increase economic activity throughout our City, which is much needed under the current circumstances’.
Once reopened, a number of facilities will resume pre-shutdown operating hours, however social distancing and hygiene measures will be in place.
All sites which will reopen will have hand sanitiser available on entry, will remain cashless and will be subject to a maximum capacity dependant on the size of the facility and in accordance with the NSW Government’s social distancing guidelines.
From Monday 1 June, Council’s Customer Service Centre and Maitland Visitor Information Centre will reopen and return to pre-shutdown operating hours.
Maitland City Library Branches will be open at reduced hours of 9.00am until 5.00pm on weekdays and 9.00am until 1.00pm on Saturdays for borrowing, returns, click and collect, printing, copying and JP services.

Seraphine Café remains closed during refurbishment.
