You're Making Me BLUSH

intouch Magazine

It’s hard to deny the fact – pink is having quite a moment in design right now. Blushes, millennial pinks and the splattering of pink hues have been the most sought-after colours, as was showcased at this year’s Milan Design Week. Since the eighties, it has remained a bit of a contentious colour, but it is nice to see it shake off the sickly sweet image, and stand in the spotlight as a key colour for the home this season.

Soft and edgy, the colour has become quite the craze due to its universality. It fits well in any room while adding that certain glow needed to make a space pop. Plus, blushes are very easy shades to incorporate into the home - whether with paints, fabrics, furniture or accessories – there is plenty of ways to add a splash to your palette!

Try using the tones to make an effortlessly simple setting, pairing with copper and rose metallic. Cushions, vases and other accessories will really shine against this warm and inviting backdrop. Or, make a statement by using big pops of blush, like a sofa. Pair this with shades of charcoal grey to create an elegant and chic contrast in the room. For a more cleanlined look, try a softer palette by mixing fabric textures and weaves, and pairing the blushes with warm neutrals.

There is no doubt that using these subtle hues will make a beautiful and interesting room, and that the blush trend is a bandwagon to jump on!
