Something Unique IN VALENTINE

There’s nothing that says luxury quite like an Italian leather lounge. Soft to the touch and elegant to the eye, it is a statement piece like no other, guaranteed to last the test of time.

For more than 25 years homeowners looking to make a statement with their furnishings have been turning to the exquisite custom-made designs on offer at Como Furniture in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

Specialising in German and Italian luxury furniture and contemporary sofas, Como Furniture is renowned for their elegant and outstanding range, which has been built to the highest international standards.

From premium, quality leather lounge suites and stunning outdoor settings to designer dining tables and sumptuous bedroom collections, Como Furniture is unlike anything you will find elsewhere, offering a mix of style and sophistication.

But buying a piece of furniture at Como is about more than just sitting on a few sofas – it’s about their staff working with you to find the perfect piece to complement your space.

While some customers know exactly what they are after, Como is the ideal destination for those who need a helping hand, with experienced interior design consultants able to walk you through every step in the decision-making process.

This aspect proved particularly appealing for Lynette Duke, who engaged Como Furniture to help bring her newly renovated home to life with a range of quality furnishings. Lynette said while her previous home had been filled with antique-style furnishings, she and her husband knew they wanted to do something a little different with the interior design when they decided to give their new house at Valentine a major facelift.

“We were doing quite a lot of renovation, and we thought we really want something different to what we’d done before. I’d always had a lot of antiques, but the house we’d bought was more modern,” she said.

“We wanted something high quality, so we decided on Como Furniture because we loved their furniture when we saw the showroom, it was so stylish, and you could see it was really good quality.

“It was also different, a little more unique than the run-of-the-mill (furniture stores).

“Initially we just bought some furniture, a dining suite and a lounge suite, but they said to us if you’d like some help from an interior designer we could offer that to you.

“The Como design team came and had a look at the house, and I just loved her suggestions. They were just terrific with their ideas, and they worked in with my ideas as well, it was a real partnership.

“Now we have a house full of Como Furniture, it looks lovely, and we’re so happy with it.”

The crowning glory of the project was the “Africa room” Lynette created with the help of Como Furniture, as well as the transformation of an area adjacent to their swimming pool.

“There was one room off the swimming pool area that was pretty daggy. It was previously set up as a karaoke room, but the Como design team suggested that white marble down here would suit it perfectly,” she said.

“With the beautiful leather lounge and swivel top chairs it looks gorgeous. The previous owners hadn’t done anything around the swimming pool either. After looking at several options, the design team also suggested a beautiful screen, which just made the area look great.

“I would never have thought of it, so it was great to have that expertise.

"From what the house looked like (when we bought it), you wouldn't believe the transformation"

“The personalities of the people [at Como Furniture], from the sales assistants to the guys who moved the furniture were wonderful, and the rapport we developed with their team was really special, you could tell they had a passion for it.”
