World flavours pop-up restaurant hits Queens Wharf

A trio of famous Australian chefs will join forces to bring a selection of pop-up restaurants showcasing the best international cuisines to Newcastle’s vibrant harbour front.
Queens Wharf Hotel and Flavour Events are the brainchildren behind the exclusive event, bringing Geoff Jansz, PaulyMac (Paul McDonald) and Scott Wilson to the Newcastle Harbour front for the unique pop-up restaurant experience open to the public on Friday October 9 from 5pm.
The sails of Queens Wharf Hotel will light up to host the Food Festival, which will feature live music, cooking demonstrations, food tastings and an opportunity to meet the chefs.
Well-known TV chef and best-selling cookbook author Geoff Jansz, whose philosophy is “Sew, Grow, Show”, will prepare Mexican-inspired fare using produce sourced from his farm in Bowral of Southern Highlands in NSW.
All-rounder PaulyMac will draw on his 25 years’ experience in the food industry as a chef, teacher and restaurant consultant to present a range of Asian dishes, including Vietnamese bang bang chicken, Japanese karaage and more. Paul is a veteran of everything from burger joints to Michelin-starred restaurants and knows the food business all the way from the kitchen to the head office.
Scott Wilson will conjure up the rich, intense flavours of southern America – think Texas smokehouse steak and slow-cooked Angus brisket inspired by the traditions of South American parillas – where he once lived and learnt in some of that region’s great kitchens.
